Welcome Dear Readers! This weekend the Trifecta Writing Challenge editors have challenged us to write a children’s story in 33 words. This is perfect timing for me since all my grandkids are visiting this weekend!
Farmer Larry of Sideways Farm
Sideways Farm kept Farmer Larry busy. Every night, Farmer Larry’s animals would fall asleep and roll to the bottom of the hill and every morning Farmer Larry had to sort them out again.
Until next time . . . I love you
Goodness! How much fun is this?! LOVE it.
Thanks Whims! So glad you liked it! 😀
That’s the problem with sideways you have to sort it out every day. Clever as always Linda.
Thanks Summers!
Like… oh who was it again…. Herculese? Pericles? Atlas? Ya know… that Greek (Roman?) god who had to keep rolling the ball up a hill? Yeah. That guy.
Oh you mean Sisyphus — so named because he was always making a fuss about having to roll a big rock up a hill over and over again.
The sissy putting up a fuss. Brilliant! Yes, that’s the guy.
Hahah! I think story of Sisyphus is crying out for a modern day back story of how that all came about!
Crying out! Hahahaha! Indeed!
Whoosh! The sound of that going right over the top of Peanuts head! Good catch! hahah!
Haha! Big smiles!!!
Thanks Gina!
It’s Larry’s own fault for teaching the animals about gravity.
On the bright side, it looks in the picture like he can carry them all back up the hill in one trip.
Those are some small animals!
Sometimes I think the animals fall down the hill on purpose to get away from Larry’s gravity lectures!
They are small aren’t they. The kitty and the horse are the same size. I think it’s got something to do with gravity!
Cute story! I’d be a lazy farmer…I think I’d just move the farm to the bottom of the hill 🙂
Ha! Good idea Janna, I’ll have to tell Larry about it! 😀
Ingeniously crafted 🙂
Oh thank you, yarnspinnerr! 😀
A great take on the prompt. Sideways Farm sounds a precarious place to be. (Loved the drawing)
Thanks Mike. Sideways Farm is a lot more work than you’re typical farm. I hope Farmer Larry is at least breaking even with it! 😀
He should install seat belts!
Ohh Draug, what a marvelous idea!
That is quite the pickle. Maybe he can invest in less-rotund animals?
Quirky and delightful as always, Linda. Thank you for linking up!
Oh so glad you liked it. This was a really fun challenge. You guys are always coming up with the best challenges!! 😀
This is adorable! My boys would absolutely love it.
It’s something I’ve been toying with writing for a couple of weeks now and I am delighted you think your boys would love it. That’s so encouraging! 😀
I love this Linda! Definitely a keeper to read to my son! 🙂
Ah! Compliments don’t get any better than that! Thank you Suzanne! 😀
