Welcome Dear Readers! What do 4,966,661 WordPress bloggers have in common?
Everyday bloggers just like you and me — except that they all have different names and different faces and probably aren’t the same height — are participating in a little thing called the WordPress Daily Prompt. Here’s today’s prompt:
Life is a series of beginnings and endings. We leave one job to start another; we quit cities, countries, or continents for a fresh start; we leave lovers and begin new relationships. What was the last thing you contemplated leaving? What were the pros and cons? Have you made up your mind? What will you choose?
Photographers, artists, poets: show us CROSSROADS.
The Crossroads of My Duck
I loved you, Duck, through pain and strife
Twas really hard to leave you
At the crossroads of your life
(I didn’t mean to peeve you)
You were my confidant, dear
Duck
For no one else I turned to
I seared you in that pan (for luck!)
I didn’t mean to burn you
The pros and cons of eating you
Were too numerous to list
l’orange? With honey? In a stew?
(I’m sure you get the gist)
Oh little duck, my feathery friend
You have no counterpart
But truth is friend (I can’t pretend)
My stomach won my heart
Until next time . . . I love you
I’m glad my name’s not Daffy
Ahahaha! Me too, at least it’s not my first name anyway!
Woah woah woah hang on! wait a math lady minute here Linda! I don’t remember seeing any why the duck crossed the road in the prompt 😛
*slapping forehead* I knew I should have asked the Math Lady first what the prompt meant. But you know all you have to say is hi and she starts in with story problems . . .
Gah!! okay okay okay duck yummy good nuff lol
Linda – like so many blogs today WordPress is asking me to do a pointless ‘reload’ so I’m taking it that I will ‘like’ your post because I always do! I will try and gain access to the post tomorrow!
Oh now that dedication, Mike! Reloading? Oh my gosh, that sounds like a huge pain! My sympathies go out to you Mike! (Leave a trail of breadcrumbs so you can find your way back to your blog from cyberspace!)
I had a lot of trouble getting into the blogs I follow on WordPress yesterday – hope things work better today and am about to find out!
Good luck!
Still cannot get into your post and one or two others. Have checked on Shirley’s IPad and my own tablet thing yet same problem! Broadband fine so it must be a WordPress issue. Will try again later if I haven’t thrown yet another laptop at the wall.
That is really weird. I wonder if there’s something wrong on my end with WP?
Duck’s a little greasy but if we were talking about chicken which I’m having for dinner tonight, yummy!
Duck is a little greasy. I wonder if it’s fattening. Maybe I better stick to chicken. 😀
and candy
Ha! And candy! Always candy.
preach it sista!
Amen!
I love this poem! The poor duck would never stand a chance against your stomach especially if he had a big, juicy liver.
No way! I’ve only eaten duck once but it was really good!
Love the duckie and your poem. Very creative!
Oh thank you so much Pink! 😀
I made duck a l’orange a while ago! It was yummy… but ducks have no meat on em!
They are slim pickin’s but then all they ever get to eat are the pieces of stale bread people take to the park.
I didn’t recognise you in salmon pink, green and beige. It’s the same colours as the poached salmon and asparagus from one of your thrift shop 70’s cookbook finds
Oh you’re right! I didn’t even think about that when I changed it It feels weird to have a new one. Maybe I should find a good vintage picture for the banner.
You get used to it, I had my makeover a few years ago and never looked bag. Bit of a nip and tuck
And your blog looks marvelous too! (Mine needed a little lipo).
Every time I make duck, I walk around with a blissful expression for a few days.
That’s why I befriended the whole flock – so I don;t run out!
By the way, I’m pretty sure that out of all those 4,000,000+, you’re the only one who wrote about eating their best friend.
Well done!
(And the new theme looks good!)
LOL!! And as far as eating best friends goes I think the only people who wrote about it were me and that guy who ate Michael Rockefeller –but I don’t even think they were all that good of friends, so maybe it was just me.
